Translating
I've translated a range of fiction and non-fiction from French and Italian. My most recent translation is The Tower of Love by Rachilde, for Wakefield Press, and other recent projects include Ennoia, a 1906 play by Jean Lorrain. In non-fiction, I am particularly interested in music and history. I have recently translated Exploring the Ecologies of Music and Sound by Makis Solomos (Routledge 2023) and I recently translated a history of the rise of populism in Eastern Europe. My co-translation of Faces on the Tip of my Tongue by Emmanuelle Pagano was longlisted for the 2020 International Booker Prize.
My book translations include:
The Tower Of Love by Rachilde (Wakefield Press)
Populism in Central and Eastern Europe by Roman Krakovsky (Berghahn)
Ennoia by Jean Lorrain, in Decadent Plays 1880-1930 (Methuen)
Chicanes by Clara Schulmann (Les Fugitives)
Exploring the Ecologies of Music and Sound by Makis Solomos (Routledge)
